WHY is the great white exactly white?

The abdominal side of this animal (including the lower part of the muzzle where the mouth is located) is white. Most sharks, like many aquatic creatures in general, have a lighter abdominal than dorsal side, but with the great white shark these colors are separated by a clear border.

The shark’s back is not exactly black, but rather gray, sometimes with a touch of blue or brown.
