WHY is it tricky to get the bulb out of one’s mouth?

The bulb resembles a pear, and its shape is pretty streamlined. Placing such an object in your mouth is not a big problem. After all, the muscles of the mouth are initially relaxed, so the light bulb enters the mouth quite easily.

Once the light bulb is inside, though, the oral cavity muscles immediately tense and tighten around the illuminating object. And then on an instinctive level the jaw closes, in addition, the teeth significantly interfere.
